Please read these Terms carefully. By downloading, installing, or using Meridian, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Vineet Antil ("Meridian," "we," "us," or "our") governing your access to and use of the Meridian mobile application and any related services (collectively, the "Service").
By creating an account, downloading, installing, or otherwise using the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference.
You must be at least 13 years old to use Meridian. If you are between 13 and 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction), you represent that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.
If you are located in the European Economic Area, you must be at least 16 years old, or have verifiable parental consent, to create an account.
By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet these eligibility requirements and that you have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement.
To access most features of Meridian, you must create an account. You may sign up using an email address and password, or using your existing Google account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information and to keep it updated. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
If you choose to sign in with Google, you authorize us to access your Google account display name and email address as described in our Privacy Policy. You may revoke this access at any time through your Google account settings, which will require you to set up an alternative sign-in method or result in loss of access to your Meridian account.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials. You agree to notify us immediately at support@meridianjournal.world if you suspect any unauthorized use of your account. We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to maintain account security.
You may delete your account at any time through the app settings. Account deletion is immediate and permanent. All of your personal data — including journal entries, photos, location data, home city, and account information — is permanently deleted upon account deletion. This action cannot be undone and deleted accounts cannot be recovered.
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download, install, and use Meridian on your personal iOS device(s) for your own personal, non-commercial purposes.
This license does not include the right to:
You retain full ownership of all content you create within Meridian, including journal entries, photos, notes, location tags, and any other content you submit ("Your Content"). We do not claim ownership over Your Content.
By submitting Your Content to Meridian, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, process, and display Your Content solely as necessary to provide the Service to you. This includes syncing your data across your devices, displaying it within the app, and enabling sharing features when you choose to use them.
We do not use Your Content to train machine learning models, show it to other users without your action, or use it for any purpose beyond providing the Service to you.
You represent and warrant that:
You may request an export of Your Content at any time by contacting us at support@meridianjournal.world with the subject line "Data Export Request." We will provide your data in JSON and/or CSV format within 30 days. Upon account deletion, all Your Content is permanently deleted and cannot be exported after deletion is initiated.
Meridian allows you to share individual journal entries with other Meridian users. By using the sharing feature, you agree to the following:
When you share a journal entry, a link is generated and delivered to the recipient via their Meridian notifications and received links section. The recipient must have an active Meridian account to access the shared entry. Shared entries are not publicly accessible and cannot be viewed without authentication.
You are solely responsible for the content you choose to share with other users. By sharing an entry, you represent that you have the right to share that content and that it does not violate these Terms, our acceptable use policy, or any applicable law. You should only share entries with users you know and trust.
You may stop sharing an entry at any time, which immediately revokes the recipient's access to that entry.
If you delete a shared journal entry or delete your account, the entry is immediately and permanently deleted from our systems. Any link previously shared becomes inaccessible and recipients will see a message that the content is no longer available. We do not retain copies of deleted shared entries.
If another user shares a journal entry with you, you may view that entry within Meridian. You may not download, copy, redistribute, or use another user's shared content for any purpose outside of viewing it within the app. If a user deletes their account or revokes sharing, you will lose access to their shared content immediately.
You agree not to use Meridian to:
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if we determine, in our sole discretion, that you have violated these acceptable use provisions.
Meridian offers a Meridian Pro subscription that unlocks premium features within the app. Subscription details, pricing, and included features are displayed within the app prior to purchase. The free version of Meridian remains available with core functionality.
Meridian Pro is offered as an auto-renewing subscription billed through the Apple App Store. The subscription period and price are disclosed at the time of purchase. Your subscription will automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date. Your Apple ID account will be charged upon confirmation of purchase and at the start of each renewal period.
If a free trial is offered, the trial duration and the price that will be charged upon conversion will be clearly disclosed at the time of sign-up. If you do not cancel before the trial period ends, your subscription will automatically begin and your payment method will be charged. You may cancel a free trial at any time through your Apple ID account settings.
You may cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID account settings (Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You will retain access to Meridian Pro features until the end of the paid period. Cancellation does not entitle you to a refund for the current billing period.
All purchases are processed by Apple. We do not issue refunds directly. For refund requests, please contact Apple Support at apple.com/support. Apple's refund policies apply to all in-app purchases made through the App Store.
We may change subscription pricing at any time. If the price of your subscription increases, Apple will notify you before the change takes effect and your subscription will not auto-renew at the new price without your explicit consent.
Subscription status and entitlements are managed through RevenueCat. RevenueCat receives subscription status information from Apple on our behalf to determine whether Meridian Pro features should be active for your account. Your payment card information is never shared with RevenueCat or us — it remains solely with Apple.
Cancelling your subscription does not delete your account or your journal data. Your entries, photos, and other content remain accessible under the free tier. If any features require Meridian Pro, those features will become unavailable after the current billing period ends, but the underlying data associated with them is not deleted.
If you are located in the European Union or United Kingdom, you may have a statutory right to withdraw from a digital service contract within 14 days of purchase. By accessing Meridian Pro features immediately after purchase, you acknowledge that you waive this withdrawal right, as permitted by applicable consumer law.
Your use of Meridian is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the Service, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described in the Privacy Policy.
Meridian collects and processes location data and home city information as part of its core functionality. Please review the Privacy Policy for full details.

By using Google Sign-In, you also agree to Google's Terms of Service available at policies.google.com/terms.
